Christopher Grimes Projects is pleased to announce Veronika Kellndorfer's exhibition SCREENS AND SIEVES at the Mies van der Rohe Haus in Berlin.

The exhibition SCREENS AND SIEVES is about a journey through space and time. Kellndorfer opens a dialogue between the European and American works of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe by bringing together large-scale images of the Neue Nationalgalerie with Landhaus Lemke’s architecture.

Kellndorfer considers her images as space-related formats scaled to architectural dimensions. The images, consisting of glass particles, pigments and an emulsion are printed directly on the glass. After the printing process, the color is fused into the glass. By using highly reflective, transparent glass as an image carrier, Kellndorfer avoids the fixedness of an enlarged photograph representing a house as a static object and successfully brings a fluid geometry into rationalism.

The exhibition makes the multi-layered production process visible by showing the glass panes and the screens (stretched fabrics over large aluminum frames), opening a vista onto ambiguities centered on reflection, transparency, and permeation.

SCREENS AND SIEVES is on view June 7, 2020-December 20, 2020 at the Mies van der Rohe Hause.
