Olivier mosset at jean-paul najar foundation
December 19, 2017
Olivier Mosset is the subject of a solo exhibition at the Jean-Paul Najar Foundation in Dubai. His first exhibition in the Middle East, Olivier Mosset: Abstraction showcases works that span over fifty years of the artist's career.
Exibited works include Mosset’s iconic identical oil paintings, featuring a black circle in the center of a white square canvas, of which he painted over 200 between 1966 and 1974, as well as more recent monochromes – including pure color fields, patterned paintings and shaped canvases. The exhibition also features new works produced by Mosset in his studio in Tucson earlier this year. Revealed to the public for the first time, this group of multi-panel chromatic works vividly contrast blocks of orange, green and blue against pure white.
The Jean-Paul Najar Foundation for Contemporary Art is a non-profit museum, with a focus on abstract European and American art from the 1960s to the present. Olivier Mosset: Abstraction is curated by Hervé Mikaeloff and will be on view through February 28, 2018.
